Please join us for our annual, Stilwell Community Food Packing Event!


Our annual Food Packing Event will be Saturday, April 5, 2025 in the Fellowship Hall of Stilwell UMC, starting at 10:00am and will last about an hour and a half.


Those who have participated in years past will tell you how much fun the meal packing is, and how much of an impact we make! We plan to pack 15,000 meals. We will need at least 70 people to volunteer to make this happen!

This year our meals will go to HumanKind Ministries in Wichita, aiding the impoverished and homeless. With Numana joining with The Outreach Program, their meals have a much broader appeal, allowing us to pack for needy families domestically, as well as internationally. 


Volunteers measure the ingredients, scooping them into meal bags, weigh and seal the bags, and box the finished product. The boxes are then loaded into trucks to either be prepared for shipping or distributed locally, as the need arises. The meals are nutritious and simple, offering a new, expanded menu. We will be packing Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese and Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal for our event. The cost of each life-sustaining meal is still only 39 cents!


We need to raise $6,000. Any financial support you can provide is also a blessing to those who are in need. If you or your group feels so moved to contribute, you can DONATE HERE!


You or your family or group can volunteer to work, as well as donate funds that will be used to purchase the meal ingredients for our event. We need the following types of workers:

  • Green Shirt Team/Station Leader (one for each of the 5-8 teams/stations planned) - this position needs to arrive downstairs no later than 8:30am to be briefed on team tasks and help set up stations.
  • Packer (10-12 per Team/Station) - some packing positions can be seated. We ask packers to arrive upstairs no later than 9:45am. There is no age limit to be a Packer. We have had children start as Packers and end up in our child care area – the room will be right off the packing area.
  • Product Runner (6 Total) – this position needs to arrive downstairs by 8:30am to help set up stations & requires lifting heavy boxes & bags
  • Greeter (2 Total) – this position needs to arrive upstairs by 9:15am to pass out disposable gloves, aprons & hairnets, and then can join a packing team
